Resort: SRA vote a travesty
A top executive at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort tore into Teton County commissioners Wednesday for rejecting the Teton Village expansion plan, calling the decision a “travesty” and irresponsible.
Jack Lewis, resort vice president, said Tuesday night’s 3-2 vote by the Teton County Board of Commissioners squandered an opportunity to plan for future growth. Lewis worked hand in hand with landowner Snake River Associates in drafting the proposal to rezone 510 acres of ranch land adjacent to Teton Village as part of the resort.
“Speaking on behalf of the resort, this is a travesty,” Lewis said. “It’s certainly a blow to two of the most prominent families in the state of Wyoming that have come together to put forward a plan that so many benefited from.”
Lewis was speaking of the Kemmerer family, which owns the ski resort, and descendants of Stanley B. Resor who comprise Snake River Asssociates.
