Resort unveils plans to upgrade – AZ

The cost of staying at the redeveloped Marriott Mountain Shadows Resort & Golf Club could be as much as $800 per night at the height of the tourist season, due in part to a planned renovation.

The $200 million project at the resort will set new standards in the industry, said Robert Flaxman, president and CEO for Crown Realty & Development, the company redeveloping the property.

Flaxman unveiled the plans Tuesday during a joint meeting of the Paradise Valley Town Council and the town Planning Commission.

Crown’s plans call for more than just razing all structures on the property. The golf facilities will be upgraded, with a new clubhouse and fitness center. Asphalt lots will be replaced with underground parking. Grounds will be lushly landscaped.
